About Pudsey Computers
Pudsey Computers was established in 1990 by Andrea and Steve Lightfoot. It is a small family business with a retail shop in Pudsey Town Centre and service centre about 1Km from the town centre. Pudsey is a small town located midway between Leeds and Bradford, West Yorkshire, England.
Serving the home market, the local business community and many local schools we supply hardware, software, peripherals and services to support these products. Steve and Andrea are supported by four full time staff Craig, Mike, Michael and Richard. The philosophy of the business is to provide a local point of call for anyone interested in home or business computers and provide a helpful, friendly and informal environment where our customers can find the products they want, and the technical support they need. In addition to the activities from our retail showroom and service centre we provide a comprehensive service for schools providing both equipment and onsite support. In 1996 we launched our Internet site which brought in enquiries from all over the country and the world, from America to Australia, from Iceland to Italy. This encouraged us to pursue the idea of widening our customer base and in 1999 we launched our first Internet shop. Another Internet shop followed in 2002 and links with our preferred suppliers has now enabled us to launch our third online shop and offer a much broader range of product. The product database holds details of some 16,000 products and the prices are updated daily. We also have an Ebay shop for some of our clearance items and special offers and have been given the Power Seller Status by Ebay which is a measure of customer satisfaction.
Our new retail showroom opened in December 2001 and offers a wide range of products including PCs, Notebooks, PC components, printers, books, digital cameras, scanners, printer consumables and some software.
To remain competitive and to be able to offer our customers good value for money we have joined forces with thirty other Independent computer dealers to form the Network Buying Group. This enables us to buy products on similar terms to the Multiple retailers. The Buying group is supported by many top names in the industry, Sony, Acer, Epson, Symantec, Belkin and others including of course our preferred distributors. The buying group enables us to publish a regular magazine where you will find some great offers. You can pick up a copy of our magazine at our retail store or our service centre.
During October 2002 we were appointed an Epson Express Centres which means that we carry out warranty repairs on behalf of Epson for their Inkjet printers irrespective of where you bought the machine from. We endeavour to carry out this service while you wait. To support this service we stock a comprehensive range of printer cartridges and papers.
In November 2002 we were accredited with BS EN ISO 9001: 2000 status. Our commitment to maintain high standards when dealing with our customers continues and this certification is evidence of our long term commitment to maintaining and improving standards and quality control.
December 2002 has seen the launch of our new website, this is the fifth major overall we have carried out. At the same time we launched our own Internet Service Eleeds.Com
